Aidan Ramsey, a Drake-bound senior at Dallas Center-Grimes High in Iowa, won the boys 3,200 meters in a personal-best 8:58.27 at the 112th Drake Relays Presented by Xtream and Powered by Mediacom and Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Ramsey set the Drake Relays record and elevated to the No. 4 all-time Iowa prep outdoor competitor, and was part of the only race in meet history with multiple sub-9 performances. Albert Meier of Boone High had been the only competitor to achieve a sub-9 effort at Drake Relays, clocking 8:58.46 in 2014. It also marked only the second time a pair of Iowa high school competitors both broke the 9-minute barrier in the same race, including the 2014 Class 3A state championships.
